5.0 out of 5 stars – Consistently good
I have used TurboTax products for many years and have all been consistently good for me. What is so nice, after using it just one year all of your information will seamlessly transfer over to the next year when you do your taxes. It allows you to go step-by-step or if you know the exact sections that you need, you can also skip forward. It makes doing taxes so simplified. Can’t imagine using another program. Always well worth the money.
User Review #2:
5.0 out of 5 stars – Quick and easy
The tax software hasn’t changed from being one of the top software. I ordered the code which arrived quickly, downloaded the software and was on my way… after procrastinating a long time. Still, it’s now done and done easily.
Includes federal and one state, though the filing for state may charge unless you send your returns and a check or payment yourself.
User Review #3:
4.0 out of 5 stars – Helpful, But Not As Nice As Last Year
I don’t like downloads. I like the CD disks that I can put into the computer, and have it read before I put it away for seven years. And I’m not as enamored with this particular years’ service. I made two mistakes that made me have to file three times and download the program twice due to the first computer dying a sad death before I even started my taxes after the first download. The proofing could have been better, especially if you have “helpful” two legged and four legged associates running around the house interrupting a person while doing the taxes on the computer.

5.0 out of 5 stars – Worked for me!
I went to three different stores looking for the CD-ROM version of TurboTax before I learned they don’t make it anymore. So I tried Intuit’s online version from the TurboTax website. That was way different and I didn’t feel comfortable with it. Then I thought I’ll try Amazon. They had the program on sale and I bought it. It took me awhile to figure out how to download and install it (Amazon really should make the instructions more prominent). Once I did, I was good to go. I had the TurboTax program that I know and love. Everything processed just fine and within hours both my federal and state returns were accepted.
User Review #5:
5.0 out of 5 stars – Easy to do taxes
I did my taxes first online, but the cost kept increasing as I did them. This download version was much cheaper than the online version, so I ended up doing my taxes twice. I had no problems downloading or installing the software on a MacBook. The software imported my taxes from last year, handled filing, and even paid my state taxes.

5.0 out of 5 stars – TT worked as expected, no issues
I have been using TT for over 18 years. While I do wish they still delivered it via CD as I’m on Centurylink DSL at the (whopping) rate of 1.5MBS, the download went well, no issues. The product worked as expected, and I will use it again next year. BTW – I live in the mtns of Colorado, where our only choices for DSL are Centurylink or Starlink, plus a satellite provider or two like HughesNet and maybe one other. But they don’t work very well in a heavy snowstorm, according to a neighbor that uses them.

5.0 out of 5 stars – Still the Best!
I’ve used TurboTax for 10+ years now, and I’m always very pleased. It has always worked extremely well. The only area of TurboTax that has not been the easiest to handle has been properly choosing any continuing education tax breaks (specifically figuring out if I should use the American Opportunity Tax Credit or the Lifetime Learning Credit). It never seems to remember which credits I’ve used in the past even though I’ve always consistently used only TurboTax, and I always start my newest return by importing the previous year’s return. Why does it ask me which tax credits I’ve used in the past when that very specific data is getting imported each and every year? Other than that relatively minor complaint, I love using TurboTax each year!

4.0 out of 5 stars – Revised Review From 1 Star to 4 Stars
I purchased 2024 Turbo Tax Deluxe, but I cannot install it. I had no problems in previous years, but I always bought CD’s at Staples. I spent 4 hours yesterday trying to install it, and a computer tech friend was unable to help me remedy the problem. I spent more than 2 hours on the phone today with Intuit Customer Service, and she finally said she had no solution as to why the install would not work. To her credit, she was kind and patient. I don’t know what to do now. I did notice after purchasing the software from Amazon, I did not have a link in my Software Library to download my purchase. However, I did receive a Product Key from Amazon via email after my purchase. It isn’t of any benefit to me because I cannot get to the point of successfully installing the software – let alone, activating it. In the last 2 days, I have made more than 50 attempts to install this software, but all attempts were fruitless. I am worn out. Please take this into consideration before purchasing.
***UPDATE***
After discovering I had a corrupt destination folder in Windows, I took the following steps to remedy the problem, and it worked like a charm:
Type “environment” in the windows search bar.
This will bring up “Edit the System Environment Variables” as a match.
Clicking on it takes you to the “Advanced” tab of a dialog box titled “System Properties.”
Near the bottom of the dialog box, click on the pushbutton labeled “Environment Variables…”.
This brings up a separate dialog box that shows the current values for user environment variables at the top and system variables at the bottom. In the list of user environment variables, you should see both TEMP and TMP, and their current values.
Click on each, then click on the “Edit…” pushbutton.
This brings up another dialog box in which you can change the “Variable value” to “C:\Temp” (be sure to change the variable value, not the variable name).
This folder must, of course, exist for this step to work properly.
THIS IS WHERE MY PROBLEM WAS.
MAKE SURE THAT FOLDER (VARIABLE VALUE) IS CORRECT.
OK out of all the dialog boxes and retry the install.
Environment variable changes take effect immediately, so if this is the only change you make, it’s not necessary to reboot.
All that being said, TurboTax “Side-by-Side” still does not allow you to make all entries. You must switch over to “Forms” to make some entries. I ultimately give it 4 stars.
